Kate has an ecology background, with research focused on stream ecology. Her experience includes wetland restoration and native plant communities. She has taught the IMN wetland class for over 10 years to several groups in northeast Indiana.

Kate's wetland talk will begin with an overview of wetland types and classification, then describe local or regional wetland properties to visit, and conclude by examining how our individual perceptions of wetlands shape their valuation and management. By connecting ecological function to positive human perception, we can all help others understand how wetlands are integral to water quality and quantity for all.
