Event will occur even if there is a light rain. This will not effect the bats.

Join PFW professor Scott Bergeson (“Batman”) for an evening bat program at Eagle Marsh. We’ll begin promptly at 8:30 PM with a short presentation on Indiana bats, followed by a guided hike to a mist-netting site. The hike out will take place around sunset, and the return hike will be in the dark. From approximately 10:00–11:00 PM, bats are typically most active, and we’ll observe mist-netting in action and, if conditions allow, see bats safely captured, studied, and released.

What to bring: Dress for wet, uneven terrain. Rubber boots or sturdy shoes that can handle shallow water may be necessary. Bring bug spray, water, and a flashlight.
